‘DUSTY’

Sunanda is a comedian, radio host, writer and producer born in New Delhi, corrupted in Bangkok, immatured in New York City and Los Angeles, who moved to Melbourne in 2019 for love.

They were nominated for the Best Newcomer award by the Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2022 for their solo show, "Sunanda Loves Britney." They were also a part of TAKEBACK! which won the 39th Green Room Award for Best Variety Show.

Sunanda is a core collaborator of the award-winning Melbourne queer clowning troupe, Po Po Mo Co, and has developed work commissioned by ArtPlay and City of Melbourne with Green Room Award recipients, The Wholesome Hour. Their children’s short film series with Po Po Mo Co, “Once Upon a Drag Storytime,” is the official selection at several worldwide film festivals with screenings in 2022.

In 2021, Sunanda hosted, wrote for, and produced Up Early, a prime time show on JOY 94.9. Their 2021 stand up show, "Yes, We Tan!" was named Broadsheet Melbourne's top comedy pick for Melbourne Fringe Festival 2020.

As a writer and producer, Sunanda participated in AFTRS Talent Camp 2022 and is currently part of the Impact Australia program.
